Further advancements for the assessment of suicide risk in mental health patients

The University of Huddersfield and Gnosis are leading a project for creating predictive, machine learning models able to precisely evaluate the risk of committing suicide in mental health patients. These models will help physicians in identifying the patients that need the highest level of support.

Recently, two more scientific works from this project have been accepted for publication, one in the 10th Hellenic Conference on Artificial Intelligence (http://setn2018.upatras.gr) and the second on Crisis, The Journal of Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention. The results of these work indicate that machine learning and predictive analytics can actually rank patients according to their risk of committing suicide, thus providing precious information to the carers.
