Founded in 2013, Gnosis Data Analysis (Gnosis DA) is a University of Crete spin-off located in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

Our mission: empowering companies and research institutions with powerful data analysis solutions and services.

Our personnel has a long experience in advanced statistics and machine learning, particularly in Predictive Analytics and Causal Analysis.

Predictive analytics: trends hidden in the data can predict the future evolution of markets, sale or more. Mathematical modelling and machine learning unveils these trends and enable prediction.

Causal Analysis: predicting what will happen is often not enough; sometimes the goal is to control future events. Discovering causal relationships in your data through causal analysis enables targeted interventions.

BioSignature Discoverer

BioSignature  Discoverer (BioSD) is a software plugin for the CLCbio bioinformatics platform. BioSD allows to discover the minimal sets of molecular quantities that are maximally predictive for a given outcome in high-throughput, omics data.

Find which genes are associated with Alzheimer, which metabolites predict crop quality, or which methylation patterns predict cancer survival: reliably, quickly, easily.

Scientific Studies

Realizing a scientific study requires to careful plan the experiments to perform, including selecting the most appropriate sampling-methodology, an accurate estimation of the needed sample size, and the identification of the statistical methods that are more suitable for confirming / rejecting the hypotheses of the study.

Gnosis DA assists researchers in all phases of their scientific work: experimental design, data-collection quality control, interpretation, visualization and analysis of the final results.

The HUNT project

The  Cancer-Biomarkers in HUNT  is a discovery study aiming to identify molecular signatures for early detection of lung cancer.

Resulting signatures will be incorporated in easy-to-use clinical tests for early diagnosis of lung cancer (while the disease is still asymptomatic).

The effort is led by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), with the participation of an international consortium.

Gnosis DA contributes to the project with experience in data-analysis and biostatistics, performing the analysis necessary for the identification of the predictive biomarker signatures.

Predicting suicide attempts in South West Yorkshire, UK

Gnosis DA is involved in an initiative aiming at producing predictive tools for assessing the risk of committing suicide in individual patients treated in mental services.

These tools will help clinicians in prioritizing their intervention on cases at high risks.

During the project Gnosis DA will use state-of-the-art techniques from artificial intelligence and data analysis for deriving predictive, mathematical models able to take into account the current status and the clinical history of the patients. The models will be eventually deployed in the mental health structures of the South West Yorkshire, UK.


Causal analysis services for GEICO

Gnosis DA is offering causal analysis services for GEICO, one of the top insurance companies in US.

In this project, we aim to build causal networks from customers' data.

During the project Gnosis DA uses state-of-the-art and beyond techniques from causal and data analysis appropriate modified for Big Data.


Predictive Analysis for Impact Wrap

Impact Wrap is like a real-life videogame on a heavy bag. It uses a patent-pending sensor secured outside of the striking area on either the top of a hanging bag or at the base of a freestyle bag. This makes your whole bag “smart”.

Gnosis DA is offering predictive analysis services for Impact Wrap. We aim to predict hits on different types of gym bags.

During this project Gnosis DA uses state-of-the-art data analysis techniques and algorithms for deriving predictive, mathematical models able to predict a hit on a bag. The models will be eventually deployed in the Impact Wrap sensor.
